The kumquat, also known as quinoto or Chinese orange, is a Kind of Fortunella tree fruit, related to citrus fruits such as Rutáceas (Rutaceae) and citroideae.
The kumquat comes from China, although we can find this plant in the east of Asia continent.
The kumquat tree is typical of its branching which sometimes can grow with thorns. Its leaves are bright green and its flowers are white and fragrant.
The kumquat can be hybrid with other citric, as we said before they are botanical relative.
In Derivados de kumquat, we prepare our products with the Fortunella Margarita variety, coloquially known as Kumquat Nagami which fruits are vivid orange, the rind is sweet and its pulp is acid like the lemon. Its shape is oval and its size is around 40 mm.
